Do This and Your Child’s Teacher Will Thank You.

This post contains affiliate links. Please see the full disclosure here. Over the years I have met a lot of teachers. When I was a home daycare provider I primarily cared for teacher's little ones during the day, so when they came to pick up their kids I would hear an earful. Most of what I heard made my jaw drop and often times was followed with an "Are you kidding me?" response. In my opinion, 98% of teachers are amazing, are truly dedicated and are focused on teaching and caring for our children, so when I hear what teachers have to deal with I have to question what these parents are thinking. If you are a parent or a caregiver and care about your child's teacher, do this and your child's teacher will thank you. My kid's teachers … [Read more...]

5 Mistakes Stay at Home Moms Make

This post contains affiliate links. Please see full disclosure. After my 2nd child was born, I left my job in the corporate world and decided to open a home daycare. My husband and I decided that the cost of 2 kids in daycare would not justify me working and paying a huge amount of my check to a daycare facility. Even though I was terrified of leaving the job I had worked at for 11 years, I knew it was the right decision for my family. Little did I know about these common mistakes that Stay at Homes Moms Make. During my time as a stay at home, I will admit that I had some regrets. I wish I would have played more with my kids, taken them to the park or played in the water sprinkles more and volunteered at their school but I also … [Read more...]

What to Ask Yourself Before Choosing an RV

This post contains affiliate links. Please see full disclosure. When my husband asked me if I wanted a boat or an RV, hands down, I chose an RV. For me, it was simply more logical. You could go RV'ing during almost any type of weather and you didn't have to know how to swim. I loved the idea of taking my kids to semi local family friendly RV parks on the weekends and just getting out of the house. Deciding to buy an RV is a huge decision. Not only is it a huge purchase but there are a lot of deciding factors that go into deciding which RV is the right one for you and your family. Unfortunately, my husband and I did not do enough research before making our purchase and now we are 'upside down' in what we owe and are stuck with an RV … [Read more...]

5 Reasons My Girls Are In Dance

This post contains affiliate links. Please see full disclosure here. I always swore that I would never sign my girls up for dance classes. As a child, I was never exposed to dance classes and until recently I never understood the point of them. Unless your child's goal is to be a professional dancer, for me, the cost and time does not justify signing them up. Fast forward, when my second child turned 8 years old, she begged me to sign her up for dance. Instead of enrolling her into dance for 1 year, I enrolled her into gymnastics. She loved it and did great, but at the end of the season, she asked me to be in dance again. Throughout my daughter's time at gymnastics, I saw her dedication, so when she asked me, again, to join dance, I … [Read more...]

After my second daughter was born, I decided to leave the corporate world to stay home and raise my girls. While at home, I created 3 small businesses and ended up not returning back to the corporate world for 10 years. After returning it didn't take me long to realize the transition of going back would not be as easy as I thought it would be. I did learn, however, that if you do things differently it doesn't have to be so hard to transition back to working outside of the home. When you work from home there is an incredible amount of … [Read more...]

What No One Tells You About Reentering the Work Force

This post contains affiliate links. Please see full disclosure here. After my second child was born, I decided to leave the corporate world, stay home with my kids and start a few small businesses. I was scared for this new adventure in my life but also extremely excited for being given the opportunity to be able to stay home and raise my kids while also making a small income. My goal was to stay home with my girls until the youngest graduated Kindergarten and after that time I would reenter the work force. Little did I know that I would end up having a 3rd daughter 5 years after having my 2nd child. This unexpected blessing caused me to be away from the corporate world for longer than expected, which in turn, made me realize there was a … [Read more...]

How Not To Get Fat At Work

Thank you, SmartPlanet for sending me a 4 Piece Meal Bag Set at no cost for my honest review. This post contains affiliate links. Please see full disclosure here. I recently starting working outside of my home after running a home daycare for around 10 years. As a home daycare provider, I was constantly in motion. From running around with the kids to cleaning up messes to constantly getting up to take care of their needs, it was very rare that I was sedentary. Even during the kid's nap time, I found myself up and moving around so when I began to work outside of the home in an office type setting, I didn't realize the negative impact it would have on my body. I am what you call 'skinny fat'. At first glance I am thin but after … [Read more...]
