5 Lessons I Learned From My Mother

This post contains affiliate links. Please see full disclosure here. I am the youngest of 3 daughters. Growing up, I lived with one of my sisters, my mom, my step-father, a cat, and around 6 dogs. For the most part, I was a happy kid. Of course, when I look back on my childhood, as an adult, I realize just how screwed up my childhood actually was but I survived, grew, and learned some valuable lessons from my mother. Throughout my life, my mom and I never had a normal mom and daughter relationship. She did what she had to do to keep me alive until I was old enough to move out and live on my own. Even though she was not your typical mother she was always, without realizing it, teaching me lessons. 5 Lessons I Learned From My … [Read more...]

Board Games That Your Family Will Love

This post contains affiliate links. Please see full disclosure here. Thank you, Pressman, for providing me with games at no cost for my honest review. As a mom, I have always encouraged my kids to play board games, card games, nonboard games and any other games that encourage them to work together, use their thinking skills and learn that not everyone can be a winner. I have kids that are in a variety of different age ranges and they each have their favorite games, but as a family, we make sure that we take turns so that everyone gets a chance to play their favorite games with the family. Recently Pressman and Goliath contacted me and asked if they could send me some of their games to share a review with my readers. Before I agreed, … [Read more...]

Cruise Etiquette to Remember

It is something that should come naturally but doesn't always with everyone that you encounter. When you are on a cruise you are around a lot of the same people for an extended period of time, so it's important that you remember to use certain cruise etiquette. As adults, we should automatically be kind, courteous, and thoughtful to one another, but unfortunately, with too much alcohol, cruise chaos and a lot of fun, we sometimes forget what we were taught as children. Give More Books This Holiday Season

This post contains affiliate links. See full disclosure here. Every holiday season my girls make a list of everything that they want for Christmas. When they give me their list I look it over, scratch my head and normally let out a good giggle. Their Christmas list is normally pretty obnoxious and includes anything from high dollar gift cards to a pet rabbit. As a mom, I like to gift my girls some items on their list, a gift card to their favorite store, a few clothes, and books. Since I am constantly encouraging my girls to read, I make sure that I choose a few books that are age-appropriate and fun so that it may spark an interest for them to read. I not only gift my girl's books during the holidays but friends and family as well … [Read more...]

What You Need to Know About Treating Head Lice

This post has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #NixUltra #CollectiveBias The first time, yes, the first time, that I discovered that my daughter had head lice I immediately went into panic mode. My day came to an immediate halt and I quickly began to research everything online that had to do with head lice. I then went to my local pharmacy and stared at the wide variety of lice treatment products. I was confused and in shock, but I was not brave enough to talk to a pharmacist or store clerk because, to be honest, I was embarrassed. I was embarrassed that I could not keep my child's hair clean and that she was having to endure the uncomfortableness that head lice create. Thankfully, … [Read more...]
