Everything you plan for at Disney is important. Since Disney has so much to offer and is very expensive, deciding what to plan for your family while at Disney can be crucial.
5 Important Decisions to Make Before You Plan Your Walt Disney World Trip
- One of the most important decisions to make is if you plan on staying on Disney property or off of Disney property. This is a decision that requires a lot of research before deciding what to do. It is important to consider cost, party size, and more. Here is a post that I wrote that explains why I will always stay on Disney property: Why Staying Off Disney Property is Not An Option for Me. Of course, if you choose not to stay on Disney property, there is a great selection of affordable houses to rent and nearby hotels.
- If you decide to stay on Disney property then it is important to determine which resort is the best resort for you. Of course, the most important thing to consider when choosing a resort is the cost and if the room size is compatible with your group. Once you determine which Disney resorts you can afford, you will want to research what each resort can offer you, transportation options to get you to each park and if the resort amazes you. - With long days at the park, everyone has to eat, so it’s important to decide what your eating arrangements are going to be. Some families bring lunch and snacks into the park to save money and time but others choose to eat at a quick service or sit down restaurant. If you choose to purchase your meals outside of the park, make sure to review the restaurant’s website and view their online menu. In addition, if you plan on eating at a restaurant you need to make reservations. I believe you can make them as early as 6 months in advance. These restaurants book very quickly but keep checking periodically because reservations can open up without any warning.
- If you decide to purchase meals and snacks inside the park then you need to decide if you want to include the Disney Dining Plan in your vacation package. Here is a helpful post if you decide to purchase the Disney Dining Plan.
- Anytime you plan a vacation, one of the most important things to decide is when to go on vacation. Since Disney parks require you to go outside it’s important that you consider the weather but also decide if you want to experience the holiday season at Disney. Make sure that you research online when the parks are crowded, weather predictions and more. Read this post on How to Make Christmas at Disney Magical.
