When my daughter decided to have an ‘Elf on the Shelf’ themed birthday party I got pretty excited. Her birthday is 1 week before Christmas so I was very excited to get to plan a Christmas themed party. One of the treats I incorporated into the party were Candy Cane Treats. I knew that with 17 little girls that a chocolate coated marshmallow with a candy cane attached would be a hit.
- Mini Candy Canes (I used a combo of green and red to add color)
- Large Marshmallows
- 1- 1 1/2 cups of Chocolate Chips
- Crushed Peppermints
- Wax Paper
- Lay out a sheet of wax paper
- Melt chocolate chips in a bowl
- Placed crushed peppermints into a separate bowl
- Push candy cane into the center of a marshmallow (don’t go all the way through)
- Dip bottom of marshmallow into melted chocolate
- Dip bottom of chocolate covered marshmallow quickly into the peppermint
- Lay Candy Cane Treat on its side onto the waxed paper to dry

These Candy Cane Treats are so simple to make that I let my girls prepare them for the party. They came out perfect, added color and fun to the party and each girl was excited to grab one.
