As San Antonio is wrapping up Fiesta, it is time to prepare for Cinco de Mayo. Living in Texas and having lived in San Antonio for over 3 years we love to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and having just wrapped up Fiesta I cannot wait to celebrate with my family at home away from the crowds. My family loves to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Delimex and the perfect dips while we stay home, hang out and relax.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Delimex

To prepare for our Cinco de Mayo festivities I first had to stop at Walmart to purchase the ingredients for my dips and I wanted to grab some Delimex products for dipping. I chose the Delimex Beef & Cheddar Rolled Tacos and the Delimex Beef Taquitos. There are so many different options which is great because I have a really big family with a lot of different flavor preferences. After I grabbed the tacos and taquitos I headed over to the vegetable aisle and grabbed my ingredients for my dips.

Delimex at WalmartWhen we got home with our Cinco de Mayo supplies, my daughter and I proceeded to the kitchen, turned up Selena and started to create our perfect dips. The first dip we prepared was our famous Chili Con Queso. This is the easiest dip to make and it is the perfect topping for Delimex Tacos and Taquitos.

Chili Con Queso Ingredients

Chili Con Queso is a simple recipe that can be made in 5 minutes and only uses 3 ingredients. You will use 1lb of processed cheese, 1/2 cup of milk, and 1 16 oz can of chili.

Chili Con Queso Steps

Once your Chili con Queso is finished, serve immediately. This is the perfect dip to top onto your Delimex Beef & Cheddar Rolled Tacos and Beef Taquitos and it is also great to use as a dipper.

Chili Con Queso

After the Chili con Queso was prepared, we turned up Selena even louder and started to prepare our Guacamole. Once again this is another simple recipe that has just a few simple ingredients. You will use 3 avocados, 1 tablespoon kosher salt, 1 tomato, 1/2 an onion and 1/2 cup of diced cilantro.

Guacamole Ingredients

Guacamole Steps

Once your Guacamole is complete, you will need to serve it immediately. If you wait to serve the guacamole then you will want to squeeze more lime onto the top of it to prevent it from turning brown, cover and place it into the refrigerator. I know there are a lot of hacks that will prevent the guacamole from turning brown but honestly my family eats it so fast that it does not have a chance to turn brown.

GuacamoleWe saved the best dip for last! This dip is my husband’s famous Roasted Hot Sauce that is also a simple recipe but it’s a recipe that has a few more steps to it. For the Roasted Hot Sauce you will need 5 -6 big tomatoes, 1 onion, 2 jalepenos, 1/2 cup cilantro and 1 can of tomato sauce.

Tomatoes and Onions

Cut the tomatoes and onions in half, place them on a large piece of foil and then place onto your grill. You will want to add the jalepenos to the grill but do not cut those in half. We roasted our vegetables for around 2 hours. You will want to watch for your vegetables to get wrinkled and that is when you know they are ready to be blended.

Roasted Vegetables

When the vegetables are finished roasting you will add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend. Make sure you cut the stems off of the jalepenos. If you like your hot sauce chunkier, feel free to add less tomato sauce or more vegetables.

Roasted Hot Sauce

After our dips were complete, we immediately started to bake our Delimex Beef & Cheddar Rolled Tacos and the Delimex Beef Taquitos. Thankfully it only takes around 14 minutes to bake the Delimex Tacos and Taquitos because after all of the cooking we did, we were hungry!

Delimex Products

As soon as the timer went off, we grabbed our dips, grabbed the Delimex Beef & Cheddar Rolled Tacos and the Delimex Beef Taquitos and headed outside for a fun and delicious Cinco de Mayo celebration. The dips were amazing and the Delimex Tacos and the Delimex Taquitos were even more amazing plain or topped with our dips.
