At the end of the week, we always have leftover overripe bananas. I hate to waste food so I either feed the leftover bananas to our goat, make smoothies with them or make bread with them. I recently shared my recipe for Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins. I love these because they are easy to pack in my girl’s lunches but since school is out, I went ahead and made my Chocolate Chip Banana Bread. The recipe is similar to the muffins but not quite the same.
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is easy to make and uses simple ingredients that are commonly already readily available in your kitchen. In addition, this is a great recipe to have your kids help you make in the kitchen. Here is what you need for this banana bread recipe:
- 3-4 overly ripe bananas
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- dash of salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1/3 c melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Mix the ingredients together in a bowl. Scoop banana bread mixture into a greased bread pan and bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
