With one month of summer left at the House of Fauci’s my girls are starting to get anxious and bored. One way that I entertain my girls is by getting them in the kitchen. I am a big believer in teaching kids of all ages kitchen skills and simple cooking techniques. Since their favorite treat to make in the kitchen are sweets I decided to teach them how to make Cookie Fruit Cups.
Lately, I have seen a lot of amazing recipes for Cookie Cups and since they looked simple enough to make, I grabbed my girls and went to HEB to gather all of the ingredients. As I was walking down the Baking Aisle, I discovered NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Cookies & More Cookie Baking Mix with Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels. There are 4 different Nestle Toll House Baking Mixes which include, Brownies & More with Butterfingers, Brownies & More with chocolate morsels, Cookies & More with Butterfingers, and Cookies & More with chocolate morsels. In an effort to save time, I decided to use the Cookies & More with chocolate morsels for my Cookie Fruit Cups, I knew these would be perfect because it would save me time and they looked simple enough for my kids to make with me in the kitchen. In addition, there was a $.75 cent rebate on the Ibotta app!
Cookie Fruit Cups are simple to make and use very few ingredients. The main ingredient that you need is a box of NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Cookies & More Cookie Baking Mix with Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels. There are two different Cookie Mixes that you can use for these Cookie Cups. You can use the Cookies & More with Butterfingers or the Cookies & More with chocolate morsels, along with the ingredients on the back of the box. In addition to the mix, you will also need a variety of fruit, whipped cream and a topping such as chocolate shavings or cinnamon.
After you mix the Cookies & More with chocolate morsels you will need to preheat the oven to 350 degrees and then prepare a muffin pan with a nonstick coating. Then you will use an ice cream scooper and scoop some cookie dough into each cup. After the cups are filled, you will spread the dough around the muffin cups and onto the walls. Do not make the dough too thick or it will not cook properly.
After the muffin cups are filled with cookie dough, bake the Cookie Cups for 9-11 minutes or until the edges have set. After you remove them from the oven, let them cool for around 5 minutes and then carefully remove them from the muffin cups. As your Cookie Cups are cooling, if the center does not go down, then you can carefully scoop some of the dough out of the cups and discard it. Once the Cookie Cups have cooled, fill the cups up with fruit, top with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon or sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
