When my daughter was born, she was unfortunately born with intestinal issues. Basically this meant that a normal 24 hour bug turned into a 72 hour bug and when she was prescribed antibiotics the medicine would give her an upset stomach that lasted the entire time that she took the medicine. Not only did this make her extremely uncomfortable but she missed a lot of school. When my daughter was 6, we took her to the doctor and mentioned this and her wonderful doctor told us about a probiotic called Florastor Kids.
Florastor Kids is a yeast-based probiotic supplement that contains 250mg of the probiotic strain Saccharomyces boulardii lyo which basically means it is a natural yeast found on the skin of tropical fruits. It is also vegetarian and gluten free and suitable for children as young as 2 months old. Florastor Kids comes in a tutti-frutti flavored powder packet that can be dissolved in most drinks or soft foods, does not require refrigeration, and is not compromised by antibiotic use. Even though it comes in a tutti-frutti flavor, my daughter says that unless it is mixed with water, she cannot taste the flavor; to her it is flavorless.
A few months later my daughter was diagnosed with an ear infection, so her doctor prescribed her an antibiotic. As I said before, antibiotics make her stomach ill for the entire duration of her taking the medicine. As soon as I saw that the antibiotics were irritating her stomach I began giving her Florastor Kids twice a day. In less that 2 days her stomach was no longer irritated and she could go back to school. From that point on, when I had a mommy friend that mentioned her child’s stomach was irritated due to antibiotics or that they had a stomach bug I immediately told them about Florastor Kids. Often times since the box comes with 20 packets I would give them at least 2 packets to allow them time to go to the pharmacy. Each friend was completely satisfied and amazed by the product.
Since every parent should have Florastor Kids in their medicine cabinet we are having a giveaway for a Florastor prize pack that includes 1 Florastor 50 capsule bottle and 1 Florastor Kids 20 pack box.
Florastor Kids is the #1 probiotic worldwide and is simple to use. Since kids are exposed to so many germs in a day, this is a must have product to keep in your medicine cabinet for those times that a stomach bug creeps up on your little ones. Please share this with your mommy friends so that they can be prepared.

I’m so glad you found a good solution for your daughter. Situations like that can be very unsettling for everyone.
It really helps them when they are constipated or have tummy aches.
We’ve used this product many times and it’s been a godsend. I highly recommend it and always keep some on hand.
My little guy is sick less often and I know he’s getting healthy nutrition his body needs
I never heard of this product either. Would like to try it out:)
This is great. With the general quality of food these days, you need as much help as you can get, as soon as possible.
My nephew is 2 yrs old and keeps getting sick, He stays at daycare. Thank you so much for sharing this, my sister will be so relieved now
Awesome. Right now at this time and age, having probiotic is actually awesome and something to have daily,.
We have to use fiber gummies for my daughter to keep her tummy working the way it should. It doesn’t take much to get her all out of whack.
Probiotics have become an important part of our healthcare arsenal. They do work and I’m glad that it had helped your daughter!
I haven’t heard of this before. Love probiotics though! Thanks for sharing.
I have to admit I don’t know much about probiotics but I do know it is good for you. Thanks for the very informative post.
I love that it does not need to be in the fridge.
I will have to keep this in mind for my kiddos!
We have been using Florastor for years and I can’t do anything but sing it’s praises. It’s a great product and someone is going to be very lucky to win. I hope it’s me! 🙂
I recently added a weekly probiotics to our supplement plan. My mother in law has been trying to get me to add it forever.
Kendrick’s mama is smart!
I’ve never used probiotics before. I’ll have to research it more!
So glad to see this for kids! And, it tastes fruity which is fun, too!
This looks like a great product, thanks for the giveaway!
What a great product! We have been using this for sometime now and love the results!
I have never heard of this brand nor considered using probiotics for my kids. Interesting to know more about. Thanks
I’ve never heard of these before. I’ve always heard great things about probiotics. Will have to check this out.
I don’t have kids but as a teacher I think it is so important for them to take these. Kids get sick at school so easily!
I have never heard of Florastor kids. This is great they have a probiotic for kids. Thanks for sharing.
thanks for the giveaway. looks like a great product
That sounds like a great product for kids. I started taking a probiotic earlier this year and it really does help with tummy issues.
Whew! When you’re a mom, every single diagnostic is a scare. I am so happy you were able to identify the issue and also found something that works for your family and your little one. <3
I’ve never heard of this before. Thanks for sharing them and for the giveaway!
It’s good to know that this has tutti fruity flavor so that kids won’t vomit out of the usual bitter taste of probiotics. I haven’t seen it in our local drugs.
I haven’t heard of this product either, but it sounds good.
glad you found something that works for your kids. It’s hard to find the right balance without upsetting their stomach
This sounds like a great product. I am so glad you found something that helps your daughter. Thanks for the giveaway.
We don’t keep up with our probiotic intake, but I always give some to the kids when they have tummy trouble!
Hmm, never heard of this before. We never gave anything like this to my four year old, but we’ve started giving pro-biotics to my one month old for his colic and gassy issues.
I’ve heard good things about pro-biotics. My husband takes them.
I’m glad you found something that works.
So glad to hear you have found something that works for your kiddo and her issues. Hope she stays healthy.
Wow that must have been so hard for you both to deal with. I’m glad you found something that works for her.
Never heard of this product before, I would like to try this for my granddaughter.
Sounds like such a great product! Especially if it will help her stomach with antibiotics so your daughter can get back to healthy quicker!
I had never heard of this before. I will look into it
Probiotics are wonderful for kids and adults! We use them all the time
This sounds amazing! I hate what some of the medicines to my my kids bellies. I need to get some of this so they can just be sick with whatever, instead of sick & sick from the medicines.
I didn’t know antibiotics could make your tummy upset. Glad to hear there’s an easy way to deflect it!
I’m sorry that your child has to suffer with intestinal issues but glad that this product has been able to help her.
Probiotics can be so beneficial for those who need them. Thanks for sharing and spreading the word.
I hadn’t heard of this brand before. Thanks for sharing.
I have been wanting to try probiotics for quite some time now and have not gotten around to doing so. I hear such great things about the benefits. I really do need to try it~!
I haven’t ever heard of this before, sounds like it’s helpful. I like the name of it too, catchy. Thanks for sharing information with us, I will have to look into it more!
This is so good to know. I didn’t know there were probiotics like this for kids.
Thank you for sharing about Floraster! I am always looking for ways to get my daughter to take her probiotics and this sounds pretty cool!
I used to take priobiotics and I think they were very helpful. this is a good reminder for me to pick some more up!
My elderly mother had to use probiotics for an intestinal issue and it worked really well. Probiotics work for all ages.
I have never heard of this. Looks like an interesting product.
I have never heard of Florastor before! It’s great that it helped your daughter’s stomach when she had to take antibiotics!
Thank you for sharing, I will be buying some for sure!
I had no idea about this product but would be very helpful for my kiddos. Now I know, I’m looking for some!
I think pro biotics are very important in todays world. I know they work wonders for me.
This is great information. Thank you for sharing. I’ll pass it on to my ‘mummy friends.’ 🙂
we use a probiotic as well, daily. for all five of us. i actually give some to our chickens a few days a week. when my son was on some very heavy duty antibiotics for 4 weeks straight this spring i really boosted him with extra probiotics and i think it kept his little tummy as “normal” as it could possibly be during that time!
so when you give them to your chickens… do you put powder in their water or break up the tablets and hope they eat it.. from what I’ve seen with our chickens they eat anything…even chicken.. not kidding.
I have never tried this. I need to research it more because it’s beneficial.
Oh I haven’t heard of these before – they sound wonderful fr kids though 🙂 x
I have dabbled in taking probiotics myself, but not regularly. I didn’t know they made one specifically for kids.
My kids used to get terrible stomach aches while on antibiotics. I wish I had Florastor back then!
This is neat. I have not heard of it before.
This is great! I’m definitely going to try this for my nephew. He has terrible digestive tract issues.
Def give it a try. At my pharmacy it is sold behind the pharmacy counter.. just an fyi so you don’t keep searching high and low for it.
We are huge fans in our house! My daughter has all the tummy troubles and these really help!
I will have to look into this. My youngest son had so many digestive issues that adding probiotics seemed to really help. This would be better than what we normaly give him.
If you choose to purchase there is a $3 off coupon on their site!!! Also if you can’t find it on the medicine aisle ask the pharmacist. Mine is located behind the pharmacy counter.
Haven’t really used them in my daughter’s diet, but definitely would consider it!
Thank you so much for sharing this! My son is in daycare and gets sick so frequently!
I’ve never heard of this brand. No little ones here, but I’m sure they can be beneficial for adults too!
My pedi recommended this when we had a stomach virus last year. Get the balance back!
I have never heard of Florastor before. This might help with my daughters tummy issues.
I’m so glad to see this. I’ve been looking for a good probiotic for my 2 year old because he can’t chew any tablets yet like my 5 yr. old can. My older kids just use the pills.
This is new to me, never heard of it before. I do believe strongly in giving my children probiotics. I’ll will have to compare this to what I already give them. Thanks for the info. Your blog looks great too by the way, did you have some work done to it?
Since using probiotics for my now 4 year old girl ( who has NEVER been sick), I am now a firm believer in it’s benefits. All 4 of my kids take them now!
That is awesome.
Good to know. I have never hear of this before! I will look into it
I never heard of Florastor but it sounds like it will help a lot of children.
Wow, this looks like a great product! Do they make it for adults? (Or did I miss that in your post?)
Yes, but the adult is tablet. I believe the giveaway is for a kid pack and an adult pack.
I always wondered if this would be good for my oldest. He often has tummy issues and no matter what we do nothing seems to work for the poor guy. I love that they don’t need to be kept in the fridge and are glutten free.
We are very fortunate that antibiotics have never upset any of our stomachs. That would definitely be awful on top of being sick anyway.
I am sorry for your daughter having to go through this, but very happy you have found such a great way to help it out. Unfortunately antibiotics are part of growing up
It helps to make them healthier. My youngest has battled for years with IBS until we started her a regime with probitics.
IBS is horrible, esp for little kids since they don’t ‘get it’. I am trying so hard to get my daughter on a decent diet to help her tummy.
I deal with IBS and it can be terrible. Probiotics seem to be one of the only things that help me out.
I have never heard of Floraster. It was great learning about the product. Glad to hear it works well for your daughter.
I know when my Grandkids are taking antibiotics, we make sure they take probiotics. I helped heal myself taking probiotics.
We’ve taken probiotics for ourselves, but never for the kids. Always worried that they’re too strong/etc. Good to see an option specifically for them!
I never heard of Florastor before and it definitely sounds like something worth looking into futher. Thanks for the awesome Giveaway 😀
I have been wanting to try probiotics myself, so I would be interested in trying these with my kids, too!
You always have the coolest stuff on your blog 🙂 Thank you for sharing Aimee!

I actually haven’t given my daughter any probiotics yet – however, I think this is SUCH a great idea and I’ll have to keep my eye out for them the next time I’m in the states!
Thank you for this post, I never heard of Florastor. I will be sharing this for sure and entering your giveaway as I have a little one.
