How to Get Creative With Gerber Cereal

Since I have been raising kids for over 11 years there are certain staples that always seem to be in my home. One staple that has been in my home for a very long time is Gerber Cereal. When it’s time to start introducing little ones to solid food, Gerber Cereal is the go-to product for all of the moms that I know and it was the go-to product for me when my girls were little. A few things that I love about the line of Gerber cereals is that they provide a blend of vitamins that your baby needs, they are iron-fortified, and they are organic. In addition, what I also love is that you can get creative with Gerber cereal. Since little ones always move beyond eating only cereal I always make sure to incorporate the leftover Gerber cereal and oatmeal into snacks that my kids, big and young, will enjoy. I hate to waste good food and I am sure that you do too, so I want to share with you how you can get creative with Gerber cereal and oatmeal.

There are So Many Ways to Get Creative with Gerber Cereal

When new moms ask me which cereal to start their little ones on and where to get them, I always send them to Walmart and then suggest starting them on Gerber Multigrain Cereal, Gerber Oatmeal & Banana Cereal, or Gerber Single Grain Oatmeal Cereal. Once they begin to crawl, I suggest that they try the Lil’ Bits® Oatmeal Banana Strawberry. The Lil’ Bits® selection gives little ones the opportunity to enjoy and experience a new texture and taste. As I mentioned above, each of the cereals and oatmeal has Vitablocks® blend of 6 B Vitamins, Vitamins E and C, iron, zinc, and calcium.

As a childcare provider and a mom, when my little ones are able to sit independently and the pediatrician gives the okay for them to start solid foods, I like to start them on Gerber Multigrain Cereal. The look on their little face is priceless when they get their first bite of solid food but once they get the hang of it, they seem to never get enough. After a week has passed and they begin to show signs of wanting to switch to a new food, I introduce them to Gerber’s Oatmeal & Banana Cereal. They always seem to perk up after they taste the new flavor.

Once they move beyond eating cereal, in an effort to add more vitamins and iron I like to mix a spoon full of cereal into their meal such as Gerber’s Yogurt Blends or Gerber’s All Natural Apple Strawberry Banana. This is also a great way to thicken their meal up as they get older.

Gerber Baby is a Happy Baby

When kids start to move away from soft foods and begin to independently feed themselves this is when I like to get creative with Gerber Cereal. There are so many things that you can do and make with Gerber Cereal and Oatmeal. Some things that I like to make are Mini Chocolate Strawberry Banana Oatmeal Cookies, Strawberry Banana Yogurt Bites, and Banana Flavored Teething Biscuits.
