How to Make a Summer Bucket List

Since becoming a Work at Home Mom, I have been lucky enough to have my summers off to spend with my 3 girls. With that said, it is important to come up with activities to keep them busy and to keep me sane. Unfortunately, since money does not fall off of trees I have to find creative ways to keep them busy. Last year I discovered and created a Summer Bucket List for our family. Here is a family VLOG that shows you how to make a summer bucket list.

Not only was it fun but it was a life saver, so I decided to continue the tradition for the summer of 2014. My girls and I  made a video to show you how to make a Summer Bucket List. We hope you enjoy it.

Like I said in the video, you may come up with more ideas than what you will end up doing, but it is fun to get creative and think of ideas. Try to come up with non monetary ideas as well, such as doing good deeds, volunteering, or/ and having outside time; possibly a scavenger hunt.

If your kids would like to have their individual Bucket List then take a look at the Teaching Heart blog. This site has a cute printable that allows your kids to answer specific summer related questions.

So grab a poster board, some bright pens and gather around and start coming up with a summer plan. Have fun!

That’s a great idea! This gives you options to work from versus pulling things out of your hat at the last minute like I tend to do

  35. I am in love with this idea!! We’re totally going to make one. Love how yours turned out!

We do a nucket list. We have a big chalk board in our kitchen. IN fact we just picked our ten adventures items last weekend.

  42. A Summer Bucket List is such a great idea! I love that you compile ideas ahead of time so you have something to source in those moments of blank brain “What do we do today?” Definitely will be doing this.

  43. This would be great for my husband and I. Our son could contribute, but I don’t think he’d quite get it yet. We, however, always have great plans and it’s a matter of DOING them. 🙂

  44. Krissyar says

A Summer Bucket list is a GREAT idea – I work full-time, but I know we could fit some stuff in..plus my Mom would probably love doing this with my kids while I am at work. Thanks for the idea!

  45. What a fun idea! I don’t have kids, but I might do this for myself and my husband.

  46. Great idea! Though I think all Sweet T’s answers would have to do with Disney World and sugary treats.

  47. Paris Anderson says

Thanks for the reminder! I love making Summer Bucket Lists!

  48. I love this idea! Oh yeah I found out where I’m traveling to in TX and it is San Antonio!!!! I can’t wait to go back to visit!

  56. I normally keep a list on my phone and add or remove things as needed/wanted. We have a short summer this year sadly because we get out late due to all the snow days we had and then we go back a week earlier this year for the first time. It makes me sad.

  57. Chelsea Olivia says

Love the things you have on your list! I plan to make one for this summer too 🙂

  58. Alvina Castro says

This is awesome! I made a summer bucket list then life got in the way last summer so we didnt even get close but that wont stop me from making one again.

  59. What a great video! We are definitely going to have to make a bucket list for summer!

  60. I love your Vlogs! I’m trying to get up the courage to start vlogging. Is is hard, and how much editing does it require? I’m not a techie so I’m a little intimidated by the idea.

    • Thank you.. You know.. I just do it.. I don’t put much thought (obviously) behind it… I try to think about my hair and put a bit of make up on but that is it… Very little editing… At times I have to do a retake or two but that is because I did not clear out the videos off my camera that my girls took. Practice makes perfect… I def need to invest in a tripod but I am so CHEAP!

  61. I love lists! I get so much done when I make one.. Cute idea.

  62. What a great idea! I know from year after year of unaccomplished goals that this could be a huge help and keep us from getting too lazy!
    thanks,
    MItch
