Because my girls love pizza, I have shared a lot of pizza inspired recipes.
Some of my kid’s favorites were Pizza Eggrolls, Pizza Crescent Ring, and Pizza Dip.
Since I have been making my family empanadas lately and my kids have loved them every single time, I decided to make them Pizza Empanadas. I knew that it would be the perfect combination.
Empanadas are very easy to make.
They are a bit time consuming but the steps are super simple.
A great thing about pizza empanadas is that you can alternate the ingredients based on your family’s taste preferences.
- Goya Empanadas Wraps – I love these because you bake them and they turn out very flakey!
- Pepperoni- cut into fourths
- Ground sausage- cooked
- Sauteed onions
- Marinara sauce
- Mozzarella cheese
- Goya Recaito (optional- if you want to add a little kick)
- Flour
- Oregano
- 1 egg
As I said above, pizza empanadas are very easy to make but they are time-consuming.

- Spread some flour out onto your work surface
- Lay 1 empanada wrap onto the flour
- Spoon a dab of marinara sauce onto the empanada
- Add the desired remaining ingredients into the middle of the empanada
- Do not overfill the empanada
- Carefully fold the empanada over and crease the edges down with a fork on each side
- Egg wash the front and the back of the empanada
- Sprinkle with oregano
- Bake for 15-20 minutes
- Serve with marinara sauce
