With so many unanswered questions about COVID-19 and so many contradictions and hearsays, it can be scary to venture out and try and live life like we did pre-COVID-19.
There are many parents that may appear overly cautious when it comes to re-introducing their kids to the world that they once knew and that is very understandable. There are also parents that are okay with living life with their kids like they did before COVID-19 existed and that is okay as well.
Whatever your parenting style is I know that we, as parents, always want the best for our children. We want to protect them but we always want to create fantastic and fun memories with them that will last forever.
With that said, I wanted to share with you some inexpensive fun activities for kids that are COVID-19 safe.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I am not a huge fan of crowds.
I have no plans to go to Walt Disney World or any type of theme park. I’d rather stay home and do activities with my kids or go to more low-key places that do not have large groups that are difficult to get around.
There are a lot of Inexpensive Fun Activities for Kids That Are COVID-19 Safe. Many of these fun activities that I have listed are perfect for kids of all ages.
- Rock Painting- This is a fun and easy activity for kids of all ages. When my girls paint rocks they first go outside and find rocks that have a flat surface so that it is easier to paint them. They love creating a fun design or message to paint on the rocks. After the rocks are painted we place them in different locations such as the park, throughout the neighborhood, or even outside of the library or grocery store. Our goal is to hope that others find them and enjoy them. Read my post about Rock Painting.
- Start a Garden- Starting a garden is hard work but it will keep the kids busy and it can be fun, especially planning what everyone wants to have in the garden. To add some creative flair to the garden take a look at this fun and easy-to-make Chalkboard Flower Pots. My girls loved making these.
- Get Them in the Kitchen- Kids love to help in the kitchen, especially when they get to choose the snack or meal they get to make. This is an activity that is not only fun but educational. Kids need to learn not only how to cook but also need to learn kitchen safety.
- Scavenger Hunt- This is great for the families that are competitive. Divide into teams and have each team create and add to a scavenger hunt list. Add items that can be found in the home and throughout the neighborhood.
- Explore- Find a park that has trails. Go explore and see what you can find.
- Paint a Masterpiece- I bought canvases and wooden birdhouses that I found at Dollar Tree and Walmart. My girls let their creative energy loose.
- Board Games- Blow the dust off of the board games that you may not have played lately and have fun as a family.
COVID-19 has changed everyone’s way of thinking along with their decision-making and lifestyle.
Whether it be social distancing, avoiding crowds, staying home, we all want to stay safe and most of all keep our kids safe.
Even though COVID-19 has a huge impact on everyone it is important that we continue to live, enjoy and celebrate life.
