This is my favorite time of year! I love the spirit that this time of year brings, the happiness, the joy, and most of all the kindness of others. Every year my girls and I love to create sweet gifts and sweet treats for loved ones, neighbors, teachers, and community helpers. The happiness and joy on their faces when we surprise them is priceless. This year my girls wanted to do something nice for their teachers so they decided to share holiday joy with Coca-Cola Brownies and create a fun DIY made from Coca-Cola bottles. This was such a fun way to share holiday joy.
Before we started our project, the girls and I went to Sam’s Club to grab our supplies. We purchased 24 pack glass bottles of Coke de Mexico Coca-Cola (made with real sugar and no high fructose corn syrup), 4-pack, 2-liter Coke, and brownie mix. Sam’s Club had their 4-pack, 2-liter Cokes at a special price of $3.98 during the holiday season, so we knew that these would be perfect for our brownie recipe but also to serve to guests.
Before we started our DIY project with the Coca-Cola bottles, we baked our Coca-Cola Brownies. These brownies are amazingly delicious and so easy to make. You will need a few simple ingredients: Coca-Cola, cinnamon, buttermilk, brownie mix, oil, and an egg.
The first step is to add all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix them. Once they are mixed completely, you will spread the brownie mixture into a prepared pan and bake in a preheated oven. After the brownies have baked you will want to let them cool completely. To add some colorful fun to our brownies, we decorated them with red and green cake icing.
Ingredients
- 1 box of brownie mix
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup Coca-Cola
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Cake Icing- Optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix all ingredients together (not the cake icing)
- Spread into a prepared 13x9 inch pan
- Bake for 24-26 minutes
- Allow to cool completely
- Decorate brownies with frosting if desired
As the brownies were baking, the girls and I prepared our DIY using Coca-Cola bottles to make into Christmas trees. This is a fun DIY that is perfect for little hands to help with. To make this project you will need a few simple supplies: green multi-surface paint, Coca-Cola bottle, hot glue, paintbrush, green, yellow, and red pom poms, and a paint pen.
The first step is to paint the entire Coca-Cola bottle green. Once the bottle has completely dried, you will hot glue the red and green pom poms to the front of the bottle. Make sure to space the red pom poms out, these are your ornaments. After the front of the bottle is covered with the red and green pom poms, glue the yellow pom pom to the top of the Coca-Cola bottle. Since my girls decided to gift these to their teachers, they wanted to write a cute little message on the back of their teacher’s bottles along with the #ShareHolidayJoy.
My girls had such a fun time turning these Coca-Cola bottles into Christmas trees. They also really loved creating a sweet and personal message on the back of each bottle for their teachers. Another great idea is to create a handful of DIY Christmas Trees to have on hand as you have local community helpers show up at your door, such as the mail carrier, trash collector, UPS delivery person, and the meter man. The happiness and joy on their face would be wonderful to see.
This is the perfect way to share holiday joy with Coca-Cola and it’s so simple. Don’t forget to pick up the 24 packs of glass bottles of Coca-Cola to create these cute DIY Christmas trees and a 4-pack, 2-liter of Coke to make these delicious and amazing Coca-Cola Brownies. Sharing holiday joy brings happiness to others and a warmness to your heart. Who do you share holiday joy with?
Your brownies looks delicious and so festive. And the Christmas Tree glass Coke bottles are so cute. How fun to give these as a gift. #client
