Simple DIY Earrings for Girls

Hey, beautiful people! Iโ€™m Chene and I blog over at Prototype Mama. I am really excited to share one of my favorite and simple DIYs with all of you today. I hope you enjoy!

I remember the days when my dad would get on to me for not wearing earrings. I was a big tomboy and hated anything and everything girly, that included earrings. I didn’t know what the big deal was back then but now that I have a little girl, I can see what my dad was talking about.

DIY Button Earrings

My daughter isnโ€™t a tomboy, but she loses earrings on a regular basis. I donโ€™t know if we have an invisible earring swiper in our house or if she plays with them and loses them. Either way, I have to buy new earrings almost every week to replace her old ones.

That’s insane, right? Why spend money on something that you can make? At least that’s what I was thinking. Why spend money on something that I know she will probably lose in the next week…again? So I headed to my local craft store, picked up a couple of items and decided to make my own DIY earrings.

Super simple, super inexpensive and really quick to make.

This is what you will need:

  • E6000 Permanent Craft Glue
  • 6mm Flat Blank Ear studs
  • Buttons (small buttons are the best)

Simple Supplies Needed

First decide what kind and how big you want your little girl’s to be. I like small earrings so I picked out small size flower buttons and hearts. Each bag had a variety of colors that would match with pretty much anything my daughter wore.

Now for the easy part! Lay your earrings (buttons) out, making sure each pair has a match and backing. Grab your glue and place a small amount of it on the very top of the flat surface of the stud. Then place the flat side of your button on top of the glue and hold for 10 seconds. Set the finished earring to the side and go to the next one. Continue this process until you have as many pair of earrings as you like! It was so easy to do AND it cost less than $2 a pair.
