For those that do not know me, I have 6 kids that consist of 3 adults and 3 kids under the age of 10. My oldest daughter from my second set of kids is about to turn 10 so with that said she has already started to weave into her young vocabulary the word “phone”. Unfortunately for her, her dad and I learned a lot from our first set of kids when it comes to cell phones but since she is getting older and will soon be entering the years of sleep overs, after school activities, and the independence of staying home while we run a quick errand, she will need some sort of phone device. After quite a bit of discussion and research, we decided that instead of purchasing another painful monthly phone plan we would purchase a prepaid plan. I’d love to share with you how T-Mobile Simply Prepaid™ plan helped our family not only save money but teach our kids responsibility.

T-Mobile Simply Prepaid Plan  After my husband and I decided to purchase the T-Mobile Simply Prepaid™ plan we went to Walmart and went directly to the T-Mobile section. I was very impressed with the T-Mobile selection and even more impressed with the sales assistant who understood what we needed and then went to the back to get the Samsung Galaxy Avant phone for us. Before we purchased the phone we grabbed 2 Simply Prepaid™ cards from the shelf. For just $40 dollars a month you get 4G LTE data with unlimited talk and text. Since this phone was going to be used on an as needed basis for our daughter I was happy to be told by the sales associate that the Simply Prepaid™ would not have a spotty network or slow data because with Simply Prepaid™ you get 4G LTE data on T-Mobile.

T-Mobile Simply Prepaid Plan at Walmart When we arrived home we rounded up our girls and explained to them that we purchased them a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Avant along with a Simply Prepaid™ plan. They were ecstatic but then their excitement died down a little bit when we explained that this new phone was only to be used on an as needed basis and it was also their responsibility to place it in the designated area after using it. For us, the great thing about the Simply Prepaid™ plan is that since my girls will not be allowed to use their phone whenever they want it will save us from having to pay a huge monthly phone bill for a phone that is not getting much usage. A few more great things about T-Mobile Simply Prepaid™ plan is that you get unlimited talk, text, and data with your choice of a high-speed data amount (with a max speed of 8Mbps) starting at $40/month and there are no overages, credit checks, or annual service contract required. There are so many ways that this plan can help your family, especially if you have a preteen or teen that needs to have cell phone access. Here is a video that shows you how T-Mobile Simply Prepaid™ Plan Helped another family and may be able to help you.

  1. I got to try out one of the Samsung Galaxy phones, and I was amazed, I’ve only had iPhones, but if I was out of contract, it might just tempt me to try this great plan and phone.

  2. I don’t have kids yet but a pre-paid plan is the way to go with kids I think. It’s a great option.

  3. These are great options for kids. Each of our kids has a phone and we use similar services.

  4. It’s so nice to have this many options when we’re all so digitally connected. Back in the day, it was all about sending quarters for the payphone, but those are SCARCE nowadays!

  5. I also recently started a prepaid plan – it is such a saver!

  6. This looks like a great plan, I love the pre-paid aspect. I do not let my 6th grader use his phone much so we do not need this yet, but when he is more independent I know he is going to want to go on it all the time, this would be a huge help at that point!

  7. Having a pre-paid option is great for Tweens and I have to say even Teens. I have an unlimited plan for my 13 year old and I seriously am planning to switch back to the pre-paid option.

  8. We’ve been considering a pre-paid plan for our girls, but don’t know if T-Mobile is available in our area. Will have to research it.

  9. These sound like great plans. I love my smart phone, but the bill is just KILLING me.

  10. We did look into prepaid plans years ago when my oldest first got a phone. I still price plans and options every few months out of curiosity.

  11. It’s great to see you found a plan that worked for your family. I used T-Mobile a long time ago. (I always liked the pink in their logo!)

  12. We still have “dumb” phones, but I”m thinking about easing in with a pre-paid smart phone next time we travel. Thanks for this post!

  13. My daughter uses T Mobile, she loves it. This sounds like a great phone plan!

  14. This sounds like a great idea when you have kids. It is a great way to introduce them to having a cell phone but not having to worry about the added cost!

  15. It’s amazing how far prepaid has come since I used it, I actually wonder about going back to it.

  16. I wish we had t-mobile here. This is exactly what we need for our family. We are paying way too much, and my tween could use this for sure!

  17. It sounds like a great plan! My daughter is starting after school sports next week and we need to get her on one of these kinds of plans!

  18. I love prepaid plans. They are perfect for staying on budget and not accumulating additional fees.

I need to get a pre paid phone of my kids as well. It would make me feel better to always be connected.

  20. I’ve thought about doing a pre-paid plan before. My daughter could use a phone so I can get a hold of her.

  21. This would be the perfect idea for kids for sure! Love it!

  22. Prepaid is a smart alternative for some families who need help controlling data usage.

  23. I am considering a pre paid plan for my teen. He needs a phone as he commutes and this would be great for him

  24. We started out with prepaid phones. It’s very helpful on a budget. We plan to get another prepaid phone when we travel because our carrier doesn’t work everywhere. I agree that this type of a phone and plan is perfect for younger kids.

  25. Years ago, when pre-paid was a new thing, that’s how we started and it was a perfect solution to our needs. Great to see that it’s still around and just as useful today.

  26. Sounds like a great solution for kids!!
