Unstuffed Bell Peppers

I love stuffed bell peppers! When I was younger I would only eat the filling of the bell pepper because I was scared to try the actual pepper. Now that I am ‘grown up’, I love peppers. The color, the texture and the taste of a pepper is absolutely amazing! I noticed that when I make stuffed bell peppers they don’t come out very pretty and the peppers is sometimes soggy. I’m sure that I am doing something wrong but I just can’t put my finger on it. So since I was craving stuffed bell peppers, I decided to work my magic and make Unstuffed Bell Peppers. I knew that this would be a simple recipe and I knew that it would taste amazing because it would have bell peppers in it.

Unstuffed Bell Peppers

Unstuffed Bell Peppers is a simple recipe that uses only a few ingredients and has just a few simple steps. You will need 1 sliced onion,  1-2 sliced bell peppers, 1 1/2 – 2 cups of uncooked rice, 1 can of corn,  1 can of tomato sauce, 1 lb ground beef or turkey, and seasoning (I used simple salt and pepper).

Peppers and Onions

The first step in making Unstuffed Bell Peppers is slice the onions and peppers and saute them in oil or butter. While they are sauteing, you can cook the rice.

Rice

While the rice is cooking, brown the meat. Once the meat, rice and onions have finished cooking add all of the ingredients to one pot, stir and simmer for 20 minutes.

Unstuffed Bell Peppers Mixed

Once the dish has simmered, serve and enjoy the amazing taste of Unstuffed Bell Peppers. I promise that you will fall head over heels for this dish.

  14. Lovely recipe. Stuffed peppers were one of the first things I made when we got married. Unfortunately it was just the two of us and I made SO many so we had them a few meals in a row…ever since then my husband loves the flavours of stuffed peppers just not looking at a whole stuffed one. This recipe would be a great alternative.
