My family is planning our 3rd cruise and are just as excited as when we were planning our first cruise. After having been on two cruises we have learned a lot about what to consider before choosing a cruise. For our next cruise, we’ve decided to go on the Norwegian cruise line instead of the Royal Caribbean cruise line but before we officially made our reservations we made sure that the cruise line had everything that we wanted.
If you are planning a cruise for the first time or are planning on making reservations to a new cruise line, here are a few things you should ask yourself and consider before choosing a cruise.
What to Consider Before Choosing a Cruise
- Where is the cruise loading?
- How many days is the cruise?
- When does the ship depart?
- How many passengers does the ship hold?
- How big is the ship?
- What ports does the cruise stop at?
- How old or new is the cruise ship?
- Are kids allowed or is the ship an adult only cruise line?
- What are the onboard shows?
- How many pools does the ship have?
- Are there any water slides?
- What are the dining options?
- Which food establishments are complimentary and which do you have to pay for?
- What onboard activities are available and how much extra do they cost?
- Are there any cruise sign-on bonuses?
- What are the room options?
- What are the ships floor and deck plans?
- What are the reviews of the ship?
- Does the ship have a kids club or daycare service?
- What is the onboard entertainment?
These are just a few questions that you should consider asking before choosing a cruise line. Of course, everything should be based on your family’s personal needs but these questions are some really good starter questions for most people.
