Around 12 years ago, my family received a knock at our door. When we opened the door we saw a cute ghost attached to our door and 3 cute little Halloween treat bags that had my kid’s name on them. We had been BOO’d! This was the first time we had been BOO’d and had never even heard of it until that night. If you have not heard of what being BOO’d is, it is a fun way to spread the spirit of Halloween by creating someone such as a neighbor, friend or teacher a Halloween BOO Kit along with a BOO It Forward instructional note. Since that day 12 years ago, my family has carried on this tradition and will continue to carry it on for many years to come. The other day my girls asked me if we could create a BOO Kit this Halloween for their teachers. Since my girls have some amazing teachers that deserve to be recognized I said, ‘Yes!’.

Create a BOO Kit This Halloween

Before you create a BOO Kit this Halloween you want to make a list of what you want to include in it. Since we are making our BOO Kits for my girl’s teachers, I wanted to add more items than normal. After our BOO supply list was made, I gathered up my girls and we drove to Walmart. This was the fun part! We knew that we wanted to buy a lot of chocolate, some refreshing drinks, school supplies and a cute bag to deliver it in. Our first stop was in the Halloween candy aisle. There was so much candy to choose from, but we decided to purchase a bag of Chocolate Mix Fun Size that includes M&M’s®, SNICKERS® and TWIX®. We also decided to stop by the soda aisle and include cans of Canada Dry and Sunkist®. The girls noticed how fun these cans looked so they insisted on including them. We also grabbed some other fun items and while we were there we decided to make the teachers a fun Halloween treat.

Create a BOO Kit at Walmart

Before we started to assemble the BOO Kit I wanted to make my girl’s teachers some Chocolate Covered Monster Candy Pretzels. These are simple and fun to make. My Chocolate Covered Monster Candy Pretzels use only 4 simple ingredients that include pretzels, chocolate chips, candy eyeballs, and small bite size pieces of M&M’s®, SNICKERS® and TWIX®. In addition, they take less than 10 minutes to make.

Monster Pretzel Supplies

Before you start, you will want to make sure that you have all of your supplies ready. Once the chocolate is melted you have to prepare the pretzels quickly so you should cut the SNICKERS® and TWIX® into small pieces so that the chocolate does not firm up. You will also want to line a pan with wax paper so that you can lay the chocolate dipped pretzels onto the paper immediately after dipping. Once the pretzels are dipped and decorated you will freeze them for 20 minutes.
