As a mom, I have always encouraged my kids to play board games, card games, nonboard games and any other games that encourage them to work together, use their thinking skills and learn that not everyone can be a winner. I have kids that are in a variety of different age ranges and they each have their favorite games, but as a family, we make sure that we take turns so that everyone gets a chance to play their favorite games with the family.
Recently Pressman and Goliath contacted me and asked if they could send me some of their games to share a review with my readers. Before I agreed, I immediately researched their companies and discovered that my family already had quite a lot of games from Pressman that we loved to play, so I ecstatically agreed!
Here are some of my favorite board games that your family will love:
Mr. Bucket: This is a classic game that every preschool, daycare, and family with little ones should have. It gets kids moving, teaches them hand and eye coordination and creates a lot of giggles.
Googly Eyes: This is a fun and easy game to understand that perfect for the entire family. It gets silly but takes concentration. Click on the picture below to see a video of how it is played.
Gooey Louie: What kid doesn’t giggle about boogers? My kids love this game and it is a game that keeps you on your feet!
Mastermind: I have not played this game yet but my girls have and absolutely love it. They are 11 and 13 years old and it’s magic when they play because they actually get along and I can see their little brains working.
Sequence: This game will make everyone focus, think and plan ahead. Our little does not understand it yet so we let her be on mom or dad’s team. So if your child doesn’t understand how it’s played, don’t leave them out or play another game, let them be on your team and explain as you play. Kids are smart, they will pick it up quickly.
Stuff Happens: This game is meant for teens and adults. It is fun. It creates a lot of laughs and conversation. The one negative is how it is scored but my family has created our own method of scoring which seems to work.
Harry Potter Magical Beasts: Harry Potter themed game, need I say more?
There are so many amazing board games that kids and adults of all ages can enjoy. Family game nights can create lasting memories and a lot of laughs. Even if you do not have children you can still have fun with many of the board games that I listed along with so many more.
