My kids and I love spaghetti, but one thing my kids don’t love are vegetables. I have tried sneaking vegetables into certain meals that I prepare for them and I’ve tried the ‘only two bites’ method and nothing seems to work, until now. A few weeks ago, a friend of mine created a fantastic kid friendly vegetable spaghetti dish that her kid gobbled up. I could not wait to try this at home.
One thing that I love about Kid-Friendly Vegetable Spaghetti is that not only does it taste amazing but it is simple to make and you can get as creative as you want with it. I only used 6 ingredients: thin spaghetti noodles, zucchini, squash, 1 pound of ground turkey meat, spaghetti sauce and 1 can of chopped tomatoes, along with seasonings.
Vegetable Spaghetti takes only a few simple steps to make and because it is simple to make, you can have your older kids help you. The first step is to cook your ground turkey on the stove top and season it to taste. As the ground turkey is cooking, you will want to dice the squash and zucchini into tiny pieces. After the ground turkey has cooked completely, add a can of chopped tomatoes, the diced vegetables, and the spaghetti sauce into the pot, stir, and simmer until the vegetables become tender. This may take around 15 minutes. As your sauce is simmering, cook your noodles.
