Before you send your little one off to Kindergarten it is important that you, their parents, teach them a wide variety of skills. Some of the skills that your kids need to learn before going to Kindergarten are letter recognition, independent thinking and decision making, letter writing, color and letter recognition and the ability to play and communicate with others. There are several ways for you to teach your child these basic skills. Some ways to do this are having playdates with others, taking your child to a play place at your local mall or restaurant, reading to your child and asking them questions while you read, playing games and more. Before my girls started Kindergarten they loved playing games with their siblings and little friends. Playing games taught my girls a lot of the skills they need to know before starting Kindergarten. Here are some of my favorite Preschool Learning Games for Kids.

 Preschool Learning Games for Kids

Pete the Cat Missing Cupcakes: Pete the Cat has always been a fan favorite in my household. There is something about that cat that has my girls wanting more, so this Pete the Cat game is perfect for little ones because it will get them excited to play. I like this game because players have to work together as a team and think on their feet.

I Spy Eagle Eye Find it Game: I Spy games make players think fast, observe, focus and concentrate. This is a great game because it is important for kids to be able to observe their surroundings and locate the item or items that they need in their everyday lives. Too often kids rely on mom or dad to find things that they need and cannot locate. This game encourages kids to think, focus and search.

Let’s Feed the Very Hungry Caterpillar: If you have not read your child The Very Hungry Caterpillar you need to. You can find it here —-> The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Let’s Feed the Very Hungry Caterpillar game is the perfect game for teaching little ones to count and make decisions. In addition, the color game pieces make playing the game even more fun and exciting.

Kids on Stage- The Charade Game for Kids: This game encourages kids to break out of their shell and use their imagination and creative thinking skills. It’s the perfect game for laughs and giggles.

As parents, it is our job to prepare our kids for Kindergarten. When a child enters Kindergarten it is important that they know basic social skills, along with color and letter identification and more. Playing a variety of preschool learning games for kids can help build their confidence and along with help them grow.
