I recently wrote a post called Create Smile Worthy Moments With These Simple Tips. It’s a post that talks about the importance of spending quality time with your little ones along with tips on how. While it is important to spend quality time with all of your kids, it is really important to spend quality time with your teens. Teens are on a different level than younger kids, so even though they may not agree, they want and desire time alone with their parents. Since I have survived raising 3 teens already and am about to raise another one, I thought it would be helpful to share a few simple ways to create smile worthy moments with your teens.
Teenagers can be tough and at times almost impossible. There were times that our family was the happiest and the quietest when my teen was hiding in her room. We all know they can be moody but regardless of their constant ups and downs, it is important to give them quality time away from their younger siblings. Here are a few simple ways to create smile worthy moments with your teens:
- Take turns watching music videos. Let your teen choose a music video he or she likes and then you choose one that you loved when you were his or her age. I promise that there will be tons of smile-worthy moments.
- Take your teen to a movie of their choice. Then afterward, go to a restaurant and order dessert so you can talk about the movie and anything else that comes up.
- Volunteer together at an animal shelter. At first, your teen may not like the idea of waking up early on a Saturday or Sunday to go with mom to take care of animals, but in the end, those furry little creatures will create a few smile-worthy moments.
- Let your teen peruse Pinterest and choose a recipe that the two of you can cook together.
- Let your teen pick a new paint color for their room and start redecorating!
- Play games together on your phone.
- Create those fun music videos with that popular music app. This will definitely create some smile-worthy moments.
- Create a stop motion video. They are super cool.
Right now you and your awesome teen can enter to win $5,000 by creating a stop motion video featuring Goldfish crackers. Go here for details.
Goldfish has always been a staple in our home. It is always nearby when we are creating smile-worthy moments. As a mom, I love it because they are always baked with real cheese, contain no artificial flavors or preservatives, and the colors are sourced from plants. In addition, they are baked with whole grain cheddar. My kids love them for their crunch and because they taste great.
Do you have teens? How do you create smile-worthy moments with your teens? Have you ever made a stop motion video with them? If you haven’t, maybe you can bond with your teen and have them show you how to create one and then the two of you can enter to win $5,000. Don’t forget to look at the contest details, here.
