I am sending my baby girl to Kindergarten in less than 24 hours. This is a moment that my sweet Bella has been looking forward to for months. I, on the other hand, am not looking forward to this moment.

Not only is she my youngest child, but she is also my sweetest child. As a mom, I have done my best to teach her good behavior and manners, in hopes that she will grow up to be an amazing and kind human being. So far, I think it’s working.

Since she will be entering Kindergarten, over the summer I began to focus on teaching her valuable lessons that she and all kids should know. I’d love to share with you Valuable Lessons to Teach Your Child Before Kindergarten.

Valuable Lessons that Parents Need to Teach Every Kindergartener

I have always said that kids are never too young to be taught manners and valuable lessons. In my opinion, it’s important to be consistent and teach your little ones these lessons before they start Kindergarten.

  • Be kind to everyone.
  • Speak up when spoken to or when you have a question.
  • Clean up your messes.
  • Don’t use too much glue.
  • Clean up messes that are not yours.
  • Always say ‘Please’ and ‘Thank You’.
  • Raise your hand when you have a question.
  • Never laugh at someone if they get sick or have an accident.
  • Always share.
  • Don’t run, but walk. There is no need to rush.
  • Don’t interrupt when someone is talking, even if they are as small as you.
  • Never be mean, even if they are mean to you.
  • Make new friends.
  • Friend those that don’t have a friend.
  • Try new foods.
  • Don’t eat glue.
  • Wash your hands.
  • Never get too busy that you can’t make it to the potty in time.
  • Keep your hands to yourself.
  • Lose gracefully.
  • Always try your best, but ask for help if you need it.
  • Be honest.
  • Color in the lines.
  • Make sure everyone gets a turn.
  • Never leave anyone out.
  • Always love yourself!

Most, if not all, of these valuable lessons, are lessons that should be practiced by people of all ages. As a parent, I want to mold my little Kindergartner so that she can grow and be beautiful both inside and out.

What lessons should I add to the list?

Before your kids start Kindergarten, it is important to teach them how to act, how to treat others, along with a lot of other important things to help them grow and develop.
