Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday not only because so much delicious food is served but because family comes together and new memories are made and old ones are talked about. Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner I knew that I needed to find the perfect Stuffing recipe. I have never learned or even tried to make homemade Stuffing and since it is my favorite Thanksgiving side dish, I decided to experiment with a few recipes before Thanksgiving arrived. I searched online and ran across a Whole Grain Apple and Herb Stuffing recipe that was made with Roman Meal bread that is baked fresh and is great tasting.
The Whole Grain Apple and Herb Stuffing turned out great. As I was toasting the bread in the oven, the sweet smell of the Roman Meal bread filled the kitchen, so of course I had to sneak a few bites after it was toasted. The toasted bread tasted so good. It had a sweet taste with a hint of honey along with an awesome crunch.
Roman Meal bread is always baked fresh locally and partners with more than 90 regional bakeries across the United States to deliver freshly baked bread to your local grocery store. As a result of this, Roman Meal bread is never frozen and shipped long distances; I believe this made a huge impact on the Whole Grain Apple and Herb Stuffing turning out so good. In addition, one serving of Roman Meal bread has 21 grams of whole grains which is more than 40% of the recommended daily value of whole grains and whole grains add taste, texture and nutrients to your meal.
What’s your favorite way to cook stuffing?
Love stuffing! I’m definitely going to try this one for this Thanksgiving!
My absolute favorite is a recipe called Honey’s Dressing. It’s a secret family recipe for dressing that we make every year. I could eat it just by itself, lol.
Looks yummy and not to mention it is healthy too. 🙂
I am allergic to apples but I wonder if I can substitute that for something else.
Pears? or is that in the apple family?
Holy Fall! This looks incredible. I am so saving this one!
I love the sweet potatoes the best.
Maple mashed sweet potatoes with crispy mini marshmallows on top! 🙂
The stuffing is the best part of the Thanksgiving meal, but I also really love the pumpkin pie dessert!
I love Cool Whip w some pumpkin pie 😉
Oh, to choose a side…I’d have to say my Mom’s mashed potatoes!
My favorite was my mom’s stuffing… I can never seem to duplicate it.
Whole grain stuffing looks great! Better than some of the other options now.

I have never been a fan of stuffing at all. This looks like something I’d consider 🙂
My favorite Thanksgiving dish is pumpkin pie. It’s the only time of year I have it, and I love it. THis stuffing looks and sounds delicious. I love when stuffing has apples!
Now that is a stuffing I would love to try. It sounds so good and I can see how the bread would enhance it.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite meals! I love making the whole schabang (turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc) on other days of the year too. It’s just such a good meal.
Ha Ha.. I’ve never seen schabang in print! Love it!
Stuffing is definitely my favorite Thanksgiving side. I usually make a cornbread stuffing, but this version sounds yummy, too!

I must have sweet potatoes! It can be a pie, candied, or mashed…
I love sweet potatoes and have found myself making them throughout the year! So good and healthy.. except for the fact that I put tons of brown sugar in mine.
My favorite Thanksgiving dish is mashed potatoes! Can’t have the holiday without it. 😉
This looks like a great recipe for stuffing. Stuffing has always been my favorite side dish from the time I was a child. I love it when it is real crispy. Nothing better. I can’t wait.

Stuffing is definitely my favorite side at Thanksgiving! I seriously stuff my self because for some reason, we never make it any other time of year.
Thanksgiving is one of my fave holidays, too! I cook all day long the day before and the day of, but it’s all worthwhile when the entire family is gathered around the table! Your stuffing looks amazing! Pinning!
