I love doing random acts of kindness for others. Even the smallest and most simple things can make someone smile and that is my ultimate goal. I also like doing random acts of kindness when my girls are with me so they can understand that life is about dong for others and not for yourself. I have compiled 15 Random Acts of Kindness that can be done all year long.
15 Random Acts of Kindness
- Bake someone cookies.
- Write a ‘thank you’ card to someone that wouldn’t expect it, like your child’s bus driver or the crossing guard.
- Leave extra change at the water machine, soda or candy machine.
- Surprise your child’s school crossing guards with gloves and a $5 coffee gift card on a cold day.
- Mow your neighbor’s yard.
- Stock up on clearance school supplies and donate them to your child’s school.
- Go to the Dollar Tree (dollar store) and buy coloring books, crayons, and paper and donate to the children’s advocacy center.
- Surprise your co-workers with a candy bar, place it on their desk before they arrive along with an inspirational message.
- Clip coupons and place them next to the grocery products on the shelf.
- Purchase a few $5 gift cards or $1 candy boxes and surprise an employee at a fast food establishment when they have provided great service.
- Go door to door and collect can foods for the local food bank.
- Call your local animal shelter and set up time for you and your kids to volunteer.
- Have a garage sale and donate the money earned to a local charity or use it to buy items needed for the Children’s Hospital or Advocacy Center near you.
- Have pizza delivered to the police or fire department.
- Gift the community members such as the postal worker, UPS delivery worker, or a trash collecter a thank you card along with a treat.
Random Acts of Kindness are a wonderful way to not only give back to others but are great ways to make people smile. Random Acts of Kindness can be done every day to anyone. It’s a wonderful feeling and something we should teach our kids.
What Random Acts of Kindness have you done or received?
I love the idea of writing someone a thank you card, like the crossing guard! What a great lesson to teach our kids, especially if they create the card. Thanks! Karen
