Summertime is quickly slipping away and before we know it, our kids will be headed back to school. This is the first summer that I am not ready for my girls to go back to school. I am not sure what was different from the previous years compared to this year but this summer has been great. Maybe it was because of the Summer VLOG list that we made or maybe it is because we spent a lot of the summer camping, but I am not ready to tell it good-bye. My girls are not overly thrilled about going back to school but they are not fighting it either. I decided that since I made them a ‘Congrad-u-lations‘ present when they ended school I would make them a Back to School Gift. I know they will love it because it incorporates a lot of candy!
Similar to the ‘Con-grad-ulations‘ present I made my girls, I strolled the candy aisle and looked at the name of the different candies. As I was reading off each candy name I began to think of a cute poem or story in my head that could be related with going back to school. I chose some of their favorite candies such as Nerds, Air Heads, Flipz, Dum Dums and Starburst and decided to go home and wing it. Being the silly mom that they know I am, I knew that they would love and appreciate the poem/story that went along with the Back to School gift that I made for them.
I kept the note short, simple, silly and of course crazy ridiculous, but I know my girls will love it and it will give them a good giggle along with lots of yummy treats to eat when they get home from their first day of school!
How do you celebrate your kids first day of school? Do you give them a back to school gift or do you have a celebration?

What a cute way to start the new school year. I’ve thought to do back to school gifts for the teachers, but not my kiddos. Shame on me.
haha now that is a cool note – you are such an awesome mom!
That letter is awesome!
What a fun idea. I think that I am going to do a congrats- you made it a month gift!
I did a note in the lunch box but no physical gifts.
LOVE IT! What a cute letter. I’m sure they didn’t mid the goodies either!
That is so cool! I absolutely love it, what a sweet way to may their first day fun and exciting.
What a great idea to give a little something for the first day of school. I feel bad I didn’t do anything for our new teachers. lol
It is great to give kids a back to school present. It is another reason to make them look forward to starting back at school.
This is such a cute idea! You hear so much about giving the teachers gifts, but it would be nice to give the kiddo’s a little treat, too!
Really cute idea! I don’t know that I’d get around to it, honestly, but I like it anyway! 😉
That is so adorable. I wish I could do this with something other than candy though. Maybe a modified version! I love your creativity here. I rarely do anything special. New clothing and new backpacks and prizes and things like that and a picture that day.
What a cute idea! I bet they love getting those letters from you!
This is adorable! My kids would love it!
You are very creative… and sweet! Happy Back To School Week!
I still can’t believe it’s already time to go back to school! Time goes by so fast.
I love that candy reference note! It’s so cool! And I’m glad I’m not the only one that is not wanting summer to come to an end just yet.
So cute, and makes it much more tolerable for kids to go back to school!
WOW! What a fabulous gift idea for kids headed back to school. I bet this makes excellent incentive and lets them know you are thinking about them. Nice job mom!
We did a little dinner celebration, but I love the play on words you worked in your letter
Keeping it handy for a little cheer midway school year
That is too cute. what a great idea to make going back to school fun.
That is such a fun idea for a teacher. Happy back to school!
That is adorable. I guess I have never even thought about doing something like this.
What a fun gift idea! I have never done a back to school gift before, but I love the idea of it.
I love the letter that you prepared– lucky girls!
This would be so neat for their locker and I love the little note you sent with them. How adorable and really unique. Good Job Mom!
I should have thought about this for my children years ago! BUT my daughter may get a kick out of this still even though she’s a senior in high school this year! Candy is her addiction! LOL. Thanks for sharing!
She would love it and she would say you are the best mom ever and coming from a teen that is GOLDEN!
So jealous of your little ones right now! Love the idea of getting presents before school. Something I will definitely adopt for a few years down the road 🙂

That is the cutest back to school note EVER! We are already in our 2nd week of 2nd grade, & we did personalized pencils for the teacher & class.
I love this idea! I don’t remember getting gifts for going back to school, but I love the idea! Also-your blog is looking amazing!!
Thank you! I never got gifts going back to school either ;(
What a fun creative gift! I love your letter to your girls.
I don’t give my girls a back to school gift but I love your gift idea. I wasn’t ready for my girls to go back to school either because summer vacation flew by way too fast and we have been having a blast during their break.
