As little ones start to self-feed, I make sure to have plenty of snacks on hand that are easy enough for them to hold and pick up by themselves, but also tasty and delicious. As little ones get older, I like to use leftover Gerber Cereal to create delicious snacks for my little ones. I recently shared Strawberry Banana Yogurt Bites and Mini Chocolate Strawberry Banana Oatmeal Cookies and my little ones loved them! Today I want to share my recipe for Banana Flavored Teething Biscuits. These are simple to make and you can alter the ingredients if you want.
One great thing about Banana Flavored Teething Biscuits is that this recipe only uses 4 simple ingredients that include 1/2 cup Gerber Oatmeal and Banana Cereal, 1 ripe banana, 1/4 cup water, and 1/2 cup flour.
Another great thing about Banana Flavored Teething Biscuits is that they are very easy to make. After you mash the ripe banana, add the remaining ingredients into a bowl with the banana and stir until blended. The mix will be sticky and thick.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray. Scoop a tablespoon of mix onto the cookie sheet and form it into an oblong shape and then bake for 30 minutes. Then remove them from the oven and let the biscuits cool on the pan.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Gerber Oatmeal and Banana Cereal
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup flour.
Instructions
- Mash the ripe banana in a bowl
- Add remaining ingredients into bowl and mix until well blended
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Spray cookie sheet with non stick spray
- Scoop a tablespoon of mix and drop onto cookie sheet
- Form the dough into an oblong shape
- Bake for 30 minutes
- Allow to cool on the pan
My kids love these Banana Flavored Teething Biscuits and I love them also not only because of the taste but because they are healthy! Since these biscuits are made with Gerber Oatmeal & Banana Cereal they contain iron, calcium, vitamins C,E, Zinc and 6 B vitamins for healthy growth and they are perfect for little ones to practice their motor skills.
What would you make with Gerber Cereal? Have you ever gotten creative with it?
Could you use baby food purees instead of the banana?
Definitely.
Could I use breast milk instead of just water?
OF course
Do these need to be kept in the refrigerator?
I did not refrigerate mine.
These look great! I just made some teething biscuits this past weekend too (my posting week is next week). I tried to make mine in awesome cookie cutter shapes, like Texas and a star, well that didn’t work out as well. Should have just gone with circles or long like you did haha.
that would have been cute if it worked out.
