“I am a Hamilton Beach Brand Ambassador and received the ‘Set and Forget Programmable Slow Cooker’ for a review. All opinions are my own.”
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I am always looking for a sweet treat to serve after everyone has eaten their dinner. Since I love the smell and the sweet taste of gingerbread I decided to search for a simple recipe that was quick and simple to make. As I was searching, I landed on the Better Homes and Gardens page and found a recipe for Gingerbread Pudding Cake. It had everything I was looking for; easy, quick, simple ingredients, and it was a slow cooker recipe! I used the Better Homes and Gardens recipe but put a slightly different House of Fauci’s spin on it.
- Slow Cooker Liner
- 1 package of Gingerbread Cake Mix
- 1/2 c milk
- 2 1/4 c water
- 3/4 c packed brown sugar
- 3/4 c butter
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- Vanilla Ice Cream or Cool Whip to top
- Line the slow cooker with a slow cooker liner (this will help with not over cooking)
- Coat the slow cooker liner with cooking spray
- In a medium size bowl, combine the gingerbread cake mix and milk until moist. Add the cinnamon and stir.
- Spread the gingerbread batter mix evenly in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, brown sugar and butter. Boil and reduce heat and boil uncovered for around 2 minutes. Carefully pour sugar mix over the batter.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 hours- center may be moist but will ‘set’ as it stands.
- Remove the liner from the slow cooker and let stand uncovered for around 45 minutes to cool.
- Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream or Cool Whip
- *Store left over in the fridge*
The Gingerbread Pudding Cake turned out delicious! I had never made a desert in a slow cooker, much less a cake, and I was so impressed with how easy the Hamilton Beach Set & Forget Slow Cooker made it. If you missed my Chicken and Dumplings recipe you should take a look at it and also take the time to enter to win a Hamilton Beach Set & Forget Slow Cooker. I promise you will be glad you did.

I could go for some of this right now. Many people think vegans don’t eat treats… we do, we just substitute the dairy.
Wow, this sounds so delicious! I love gingerbread, but never really tried to make anything with it. Except for once, I made demented gingerbread men, lol!

Gingerbread is my fave fall/winter flavor. I love gingersnaps, gingerbread men and I know I’ll love this gingerbread pudding cake. Anything made easier in the slow cooker is a winner with me. I can almost smell that heavenly aroma . . .
Favorite comfort food is cupcakes! Which are not slow cooker material, probably, but I’ve been increasingly intrigued by the number of dessert recipes I’ve seen for slow cookers in the last couple of years.
