The holidays have arrived and it’s time to start planning on what we are going to serve our family this Thanksgiving and Christmas. Of course, we will serve the main side dishes such as corn, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rolls, cranberry sauce, stuffing and macaroni and cheese for the kids. To top it off, we also serve a big juicy turkey, but as we are planning our menu it’s important that we remember that it’s not all about turkey during the holidays.
When you have a houseful of guests during the holidays, it is important to plan the main holiday meal but it’s also important to think beyond the turkey. After the holiday meal has been eaten and put away, throughout the day your guests will yearn for a different variety of drinks and snacks. Here are some ideas on what you can make sure to stock up on for your guests during the holidays.
- Coffee– It’s important to have enough coffee for your guests. I like to keep it simple and use NESCAFE® TASTER’S CHOICE® Instant Coffee. This coffee is made with 100% pure premium coffee and it’s the perfect way to keep your guests awake.
- Coffee Creamer– Make sure to have enough NESTLE® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer for the guests that like to add a flavor boost to their coffee. Since they come in so many amazing flavors I like to grab at least 3-4.
- Sweet Treats– Throughout the day, everyone likes a little sweet treat so I like to bake a variety of sweet treats. Since it’s pumpkin season I always make sure to have a few cans of LIBBY’S® 100% Pure Pumpkin and a bag of NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Morsels. From cookies to pumpkin cake, to brownies, the possibilities are endless.
- Pizza– I will be the first to admit, it’s nice to get a break from leftovers. When guests begin to get hungry, again, it’s nice to keep it simple and toss a frozen pizza in the oven. DIGIORNO® RISING CRUST® Pizza is the perfect pizza to serve your guests. It has a self-rising crust with big, juicy toppings that are paired with their signature sauce.
During the holidays, before guests arrive, I make sure to go to my local Dollar General with my list and pick up the extras that I need to keep my guest’s tummies satisfied. Before I arrive, I make sure to look at the Dollar General website for the available Digital Coupons. There are so many that I always end up saving money. Finding and using these digital coupons are simple, just go here and follow the prompts.
