In the House of Fauci’s, football is big. My husband likes to pick his favorite teams and spend all day on Sunday and in the middle of the week watching and talking football. I, on the other hand, like to spend Sunday in the kitchen making game day appetizers and other delicious football treats. One of our favorite appetizers to snack on is Layered Chili Dip. It is quick and simple to make and everyone in the family loves it.
Before game day, I make sure to go to Family Dollar to pick up most of the ingredients that I need for my Layered Chili Dip along with cold and refreshing drinks, such as Sprite and Coca-Cola™, to wash it down with. In addition, right now you can save $1 when you buy (1) 12-pack of any Coca-Cola® product plus (1) Wise snack 3oz or larger at Family Dollar! Also, make sure to look for the one-stop Coca-Cola and Wise snacks display.
Layered Chili Dip is a quick and easy game day recipe that uses very few ingredients. For this dip, I use an 8 oz block of cream cheese, 1 cup of chunky hot sauce, sour cream, 2 cans of chili with or without beans, chives, a lot of shredded cheese, and fresh tomatoes.
There are only a few simple steps to making Layered Chili Dip. The first step is to make the bottom layer of the dip. You will blend (1) 8 oz softened cream cheese with 16 oz of chunky hot sauce. Once the mix is blended, spread it onto the bottom of a square glass pan.
After the cream cheese mixture has been completely spread onto the bottom of the pan, sprinkle just enough cheese to cover the mixture and then top the cheese with chili and then another layer of cheese.
Once the Chili Dip has been layered, bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. When you are ready to serve the Layered Chili Dip, sprinkle with chives and fresh tomatoes and then a big dollop of sour cream.
