I am in love with Christmas themed arts and crafts. Lately I have been creating and gifting cute homemade seasonal mason jars to the parents of my daycare kids. I love adding a special touch to each gift that I create so that it will touch their hearts and become a forever keepsake. For this particular gift, I was making it for the parents of a 4 month old baby girl and since it was her first Christmas, I really wanted to make it special. I decided to create a Snowman Mason Jar that will be a forever keepsake.
For the DIY Snowman Mason Jar, you need a few simple supplies: mason jar, paintbrush, googly eyes, pom poms, paint pens, multi surface paint, and Mod Podge (optional).
The first step to create this adorable Snowman Mason Jar, is to paint the baby’s foot white. You will then turn the mason jar upside down and carefully press the child’s foot onto the jar. Make sure to work fast but be careful because the painted foot can get slippery.
This is a simple project that allows you to get creative. Feel free to use different colors for the scarf and ear muffs. After you create your snowman, let it dry. You can then create snowflakes all around the mason jar or any other designs. Underneath the snowman, I put the current year, to make the keepsake more special.
This Snowman Mason Jar is the perfect keepsake for moms with little babies. It’s the perfect jar to bring out each Christmas and fill with your favorite candy while looking at your precious child’s snowman foot.
Oh my stars, this is so stinking precious! What a great way to make a family keepsake.
I love your idea of adding earmuffs on the snowman… make it look cool. I will trying making this next weekend with my girls.
I will share this post with my office mate. She recently gave birth to a bouncing baby boy and I am sure she would want every little keepsake she can get her hands on. A footprint craft would thrill her!
This is such a cute idea for a project to do during the holidays. It’s a great personalized gift to give as well.
I love this idea. It will make the perfect gift for my friend. I will have to make one for her the next time i babysit her Daughter.
Now that is a great idea and so unique but yet personal. Kids will love having those as keepsakes and showing their kids.
