17 years ago I married a smoker. As a non smoker I could not understand the addiction behind smoking but as I lived my life with my smoking husband and watched and struggled with him during his battle to quit smoking I began to understand that thing called addiction. Smoking is a true addiction and for anyone that is trying to quit and for loved ones that are watching someone trying to quit they know the true struggle. Thankfully, around 6 years later my husband was able to quit but it took him around 2-3 years to actually win against the nicotine cravings. It was not easy for him and it was not easy for those that had to be around him each day. Since I’ve seen the struggle of someone trying to fight the nicotine cravings, I decided to share a list of tips on putting out your cigarette for good in hopes that this will help someone.
There are many different ways that you can try and quit smoking. For someone that is trying to quit smoking you might become overwhelmed with all of the tips that you read and you might get frustrated with all of the advice from those that have quit. My biggest piece of advice is to do what feels right for you and not give up. Here are a few tips that I have seen work for my husband and others that I have known that have put their cigarette out for good.
- Count Out Your Cigarettes: How many cigarettes do you smoke in a day? If you smoke 20 cigarettes in a day, then set a goal to smoke 18 and then 15, in hopes that you will soon smoke fewer and fewer each day.
- Carry a Certain Number of Cigarettes: Instead of carrying an entire pack of cigarettes with you when you leave your home, try and carry only a certain number. This way you won’t be too tempted to smoke consistently but will be more willing to space out your cigarettes, therefore smoking less.
- Create a Journal or Calendar: Write down every time that you smoke a cigarette. Make sure to include the date, time, where you were and what you were doing when you decided to smoke a cigarette. Doing this may help you in determining what caused your nicotine cravings and may be able to help you do things a little bit differently throughout your day to help you cut down or stop smoking.
- Avoid Going to Bars, Social Settings & Drinking Alcohol: Often times, social settings that include alcohol causes smokers to want to smoke. I do not know the rhyme or reason behind it but it’s true. If you truly want to stop smoking, my advice is to avoid being around smokers and avoid all social settings that may include alcohol.
- Quit Smoking Naturally: When I say ‘Quit Smoking Naturally’ I don’t mean it as quitting cold turkey. To quit cold turkey is hard and can cause a lot of stress. Aqua-tine™ is a small 2.4 ml packet of homeopathic liquid nicotine formulation that is colorless, virtually tasteless, contains none of the carcinogens found in regular cigarettes and temporarily relieves your tobacco craving. It is great for situations and environments where you cannot or choose not to smoke such as on airplanes and at work. It is discreet and simple to use and only has 3 ingredients. To use Aqua-tine™ you simply mix it into your drink of choice whenever you feel the urge to smoke or use tobacco but it is not recommended to be mixed with energy drinks or alcoholic drinks. Once you mix it in your drink you won’t even know it is there because it is virtually tasteless.
Right now Aqua-tine™ 12-pack is SOLD OUT, but you can now receive 25% Off the Aqua-tine 40-pack (reg. $24.95) by using code AQUATINE25OFF by visiting the Aqua-tine™ website and Aqua-tine™ has allowed me to host a giveaway (US only- sorry) for my readers for a 12-pack of Aqua-tine™. This is a great opportunity to give you or someone that you care for and love a chance to test out this product as a way to hopefully help relieve tobacco cravings forever.
Aqua-tine™ is another great way to try and quit smoking not only for those that you love and care for but for you. If you know anyone that is a smoker that is trying to quit, please share this post with them. Do you have any tips that may help someone put out their cigarette for good?
