My family and I love Walt Disney World and we’ve been lucky enough to be able to go four times. There is so much that Walt Disney World has to offer and often times very little time to do it. Before our last trip to Disney World, I discovered an amazing group of ladies from 3 Moms and the Mouse. I immediately became obsessed with their weekly podcasts and from those podcasts and from my previous trips to Disney, I discovered 5 must do’s while at Walt Disney World.
- Fantasmic!: We have made it a point to see Fantasmic during every trip to Walt Disney World. It is one of the most amazing shows that Disney offers. There are awesome pyrotechnics, laser lights, dancing water, 50 costumed performers, Disney tunes and so much more. It is an experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There are things you need to know before you go, so make sure to visit the Walt Disney World website and read the details.
- Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: Whether you have a princess or a knight, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is not only a fun experience for your child but it also creates fun memories. There are several different packages that are offered so you can decide what kind of experience your child will have and how much money you want to spend. I made sure to schedule my girl’s experience in the morning so that they could show off their glamorous style all day at the park.
- Memory Maker: This is the best choice I made before I booked my last trip to Walt Disney World. I am always stuck taking pictures and in addition, I am rarely in the pictures. I also hate lugging my camera around at a theme park and worrying that it might get damaged or stolen. The cost of the Memory Maker package is completely worth it. You are provided with an amazing amount of pictures from pictures around the park, dining photos, ride photos and fun magic shots. I had over 600 high-quality pictures to download when I got home and was pleased when I received them after I had some printed.
- Character Dining: There are so many character dining options to choose from and they are all fun and a wonderful experience and perfect for all ages.
- Pin Trading: This is another must do that I learned while listening to 3 Moms and the Mouse. Pin trading can be serious or it can be fun. For some Walt Disney goers they take pin trading very seriously but for us I decided to have fun with it so I contacted an awesome company called Mouse Pins Online and ordered my girls a variety of pins that they could keep or trade. My girls had so much fun trading their pins and learning how the trade process worked that I know that we will be doing it again during our next visit.
Walt Disney World is such an amazing and magical place. There is so much to do that you want to make sure you make the most of it. Can you add to my 5 must haves while at Walt Disney World?
If you love Disney, which I am sure that you do, here are some fantastic Disney posts: 5 Disney Inspired Themed Party Treats, 5 Amazing WDW Character Dining Restaurants, What to Skip at WDW, 5 Must-Do Attractions at Epcot, What Not to Buy at Walt Disney World, Why Disney’s Art of Animation is NOT For Me, 5 Things I’ve Never Experienced At Walt Disney World, How to Make Christmas at Disney Magical, and more.
We’ve never done Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. The hairstyle choices are all updos, which isn’t really a choice if you have a girl with short hair. Since their web page doesn’t state anything but updos, I’ve been leery on wasting time making a reservation. I don’t want to pay that much for her to come out of it with less than expected.
Memory Maker, for me, is a waste of money. I won’t purchase it anymore. The year before last, we came home with one photo (other than the stock Disney photos they give to everyone). Just one. We either never saw the photographers or their lines were just way too long to wait in and lose valuable park time for. We had it given to us for free last year because of mistakes on our reservation Disney had made, and while we came home with more than one this time, it still wasn’t enough to warrant the expense. Paying almost $200 for a handful of photos isn’t a very good expense. I think we got five this last time. Needless to say, I’m not paying for it when we go this year.
When did you purchase the Memory Maker? Did you receive ride videos and photos? They are automatically placed on account via your Magic Band. Whenever we see a photographer, we get in the line and take at least 4 random pictures. I went home with over 500 pics.
I live here and haven’t done some of these! Thanks for the list!
I love the whole mindset! Every cast member works to make sure that you feel special and know that you are in a magical place. I have never seen Fantasmic and I really need to fix that! Thanks for linking up with us for #MagicalMonday!
I was psyched to see that I had done all of your “Must Dos” I love Fantasmic it’s so great. My family also loves Pin Trading but I am thinking that Pin Trading is falling by the waste side with the introduction of the Magic Band. There just seems to be less people wearing pin necklaces. There are a few cast members that still have them but not as many as before. That makes me sad. Great connecting with you and thanks for linking up on MagicalMonday.
Taking photos of those disney characters are definitely a must-do indeed!
Wow! This sounds like some really great things to do. I wish I had known some of things when we went a few years ago. I hope we get to go back soon so we can try some of this.
The Mickey ice cream bars!!!! Can’t wait to go again in May so I can gave one
I never even knew about the pins until when we arrived at Disney world. I totally recommend it!
We just went this past December. We did character dining, Fantastic and many of the rides.
Oh my goodness! I love everything about Disney World! We went this winter and it was a perfect time to go with our three children. Next time we have a catch that awesome parade!
You’re such a Disney guru 😉 I can’t wait to take the family this November
. I’m sure Little M and I are going to take over the trip and try to do every Princess related activity.
Great list! I never go to Disney without dining with the Princesses. Now keep in mind I do not have kids and am usually dragging the hubby with me 🙂
Fantasmic is my favorite, though I do love the Disneyland version more. I had not heard of Memory Maker before. I will definitely be checking it out. I can’t wait to take my littlest one. She’s never experienced Disney.
When I finally take my family to Disney World, I hope to have all of us do these and much more. I love how happy you all look in the photos.
We went to Disney last November. My little one wanted a makeover at the Bobidi Boutique. Unfortunately we did not have the time to make it over there.
These are great tips for anyone headed to Disney. I LOVE Disney. I’ve been there more times than I can count. It’s awesome!
We haven’t been to Disney, but it is amazing how much there is to do there! I know my kids would absolutely love it there. Thanks for sharing all these great things to do!
My seven year old would love to pin trade. We are going to WDW in December.
These are some great photos! I’ll definitely keep this in mind for our trip in May, love how you can visit Disney World and do something different every time.
It looks like you had a blast. I would love to try the memory maker one. My kids will love it
I have been to Walt Disney World as a kid but my husband and I took our kids to Disneyland over Christmas and Fantasmic is AMAZING.
How cool, you guys are making me want to go back. It’s a few on the list that we didn’t get to do.
I’ve been dying to take my girls here. I due with twins in a few months so I think it will have to wait a little longer still, but I will be coming back to your list:)
Congrats on the upcoming twins!
Very cool! I didn’t even know about the Memory Makers. That’s a great idea!
I completely agree with the memory maker. It’s a MUST with an extended trip!
I like the idea of the Memory Maker. That would assure you of having some great pictures and relieve some of the stress of worrying about capturing the fun moments and memories.
That looks like a lot of fun! I’ve never been – but that looks like a blast!
I have never been to Disney world. I do plan on going some time before Bella is too old to appreciate it. We live in Michigan so travel cost is what deters us. We do have family that lives in Fl so maybe a vacation can be done in a year or two.
Walt Disney World is such a fun vacation. I want to take my family.
This is so funny, because we do all the same things. We took our daughter when she was 7 and did the entire boutique package. She loved it. She’s now 14 but we still love all the character experiences and we’re huge pin traders!
I am DYING to get back to Disney World! Truly the most magical place on earth. These are wonderful tips, thanks for sharing.

How fun! Hope to one day get there with the kiddos. We’ve all waited and cant wait to make it there!
That looks like a fun trip. I will put this on my list when we go there.
I really love their photo package. It really allows you to enjoy the day at Disney without doing any camera work!
I am currently in agony over deciding whether or not to plan a Disney world trip SOON (since I’m always antsy to get back) or wait until our 8 month old can enjoy it. I’m leaning towards sooner for our 4 1/2 year old, and we can do it AGAIN for his brother. 🙂 That Memory Maker sounds AWESOME, I will check out that service for sure!
I love seeing the joy in my kids’s faces! My favorite is Epcot 🙂
I would love to make it back to Disney again one days and I shall definitely keep these in mind as must dos 🙂
We go every year, so we have the parks down to a science. I would have totally different things on my list 😉
