This week ‘Finish This’ Week 31 is about school days!
If I went back to school, I would study.. teaching. I should have been a teacher of some sort. I used to work as a trainer back in the days and I loved it.
My favorite subject in school… English. I was such a nerd. I loved reading the books that were assigned and I loved to write. My second favorite subject was Debate class. If you gave me a topic I could argue both sides of the topic; I still can.
I wish I had paid more attention…when it came to furthering my education. Actually, I wish I had seeked assistance on how to further my education. Instead of doing this I simply got two jobs and worked my booty off and climbed the corporate ladder. I do not regret not furthering my education by the means of college but I do wonder where I would be now.
The dumbest thing I did in high school was.. oh goodness, this was dumb! Back in the olden days, before internet and cell phones, they had ‘chat’ lines. A ‘chat’ line was when you would call a local number and it had 7 or so people on the same line and the goal was to get the attention of that one person. What can I say, in 9th grade my friend and I were bored one day. We had fun times, but boy.. were we stupid!
In high school, I thought I knew… this is a tough question because I knew everything!

How funny that you would study teaching if you went back to school. My oldest sister decided after 15 years of marriage, and many years of being a stay-at-home-mom that she wanted to go back to school. She became a teacher and then she decided to get her masters! She teaches English! 🙂
I’ve never heard of chat lines. Too funny!!
Ha! My favorite subject in school was English…and I became and English teacher. But it didn’t last. I lacked organization, stamina, and the extreme multitasking skills necessary to survive in teaching. I’m reconsidering it now though. After I quit teaching I’ve thought many times of the circumstances under which I’d go back to it…and I always thought, if I could do ONE class, or maybe two, and have the rest of the day to plan, I could do this thing, and would be willing to be payed much less to do that. Well, a local co-op I found while researching homeschooling options for my youngest does just that. You set the price per student. Wow. Not this year since I’m new to homeschooling and don’t want to divide my time…but I may actually to teaching again.
I think I was similar to you in High School. I loved English and writing the most!
You are so funny! You are right where God wants you to be with a beautiful family, enjoying life! I can’t repeat the dumbest thing I did in high school, it is just too embarrassing now.
Ha thanks.. I was ‘light’ and not detailed on my dumbest things in high school. Too many family members read my stuff.
You always make me laugh. Every single time I read one of these posts…..I think we all have moments where we are like “what if….” when it comes to our education. I know I do. I didn’t have parents that pushed to me to go further and I so wished that they would have. English was always one of my favorite classes also!
Cracking me up as usual! Those party line/chat lines brought me back to a younger time… too funny!!
Oh how I remember the party lines ( that is what it was called when I was in high school).
My favorite subject in school was art, I love to draw and was really good at it too.
This is a fun idea! English was my favorite subject as well and I went into Communication in college. It’s definitely kind of hard to list all the dumb things we’ve done in high school. I don’t think I would even want to think back. 🙂
I love this! It’s so much fun learning more about you.
I’m really loving your finish this weekly blog. Learning so much about you!
