My girls love pizza but ordering pizza can become very expensive.
To be quite honest, not only is ordering pizza expensive but it is never guaranteed that you will be delivered a hot and fresh pizza. Too often when I order a pizza for my family the pizza is never delivered how we ordered it.
With that said, I decided to skip ordering pizza for my family and instead make them a fun, simple, fresh and delicious homemade pizza.
I wanted to make my girls a pizza that was different from what they were used to. Since I had 2 packages of crescent rolls left over from the holidays, I thought that it would be fun to make them a Pizza Crescent Ring.
This pizza crescent ring is a recipe that can be altered each time you make it. You can also make half of the crescent ring one variety of toppings and the other half another variety of toppings.
The possibilities are endless and your kids are guaranteed to love it.
Remember you can change the ingredients each time you make this Pizza Crescent Roll.
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 5 strips of cooked bacon, crumbled
- 20 pieces of pepperoni
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 4 garlic cloves, diced
- 2 cups of fresh spinach, sauteed with 2 garlic cloves
- Olive oil, for sauteeing spinach
- 1/2 cup to 1 cup fresh parmesan cheese, shredded
- 5 slices or more of mozzarella cheese, cut into quarters
- Marinara sauce (I used a jar of HEB store brand)
- Fresh herbs of choice (I used fresh thyme because that’s what we had)
- Tablespoon of melted butter with fresh herbs added
- 2 cans of Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls
- Heat oven to 375 degrees
- Cook ground beef with 2 garlic cloves and diced onion
- Drain grease
- Add 1/2 of the marinara to the cooked ground beef, simmer
- Unroll both cans of crescent rolls. Arrange into an overlapping ring (see example above) onto a large nonstick cookie sheet. I use this cookie sheet and it works perfectly.
- Spoon beef mixture around the crescent ring
- Top with cooked crumbled bacon
- Top with sauteed spinach
- Add pepperoni
- Place the quartered cheese around the crescent ring
- Top with 1/2 of the fresh parmesan cheese
- Fold over each corner of the crescent roll and tuck the end under the bottom layer
- Lightly spread the melted butter over the crescent ring
- Top with remaining parmesan cheese
- Bake for 20-25 minutes
- Let sit for 10 minutes before serving
- Serve with remaining marinara sauce

The Pizza Crescent Ring was a huge success with my family. They not only wanted seconds but they are already planning for the next toppings that we will add when we make it again.
