Apple Crisp

“I am a Hamilton Beach Brand Ambassador and received the ‘Set and Forget Programmable Slow Cooker’ for a review. All opinions are my own.”

It’s fall and when I peruse Pinterest and Facebook I see apples, lots and lots of apples. There are so many things to do with apples; you can cook with apples, paint with apples, decorate with apples and so much more. On this day since I had an urge to break in my Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker I decided to go on a hunt for a slow cooker recipe that incorporated Apples!

Apples

I had never made an apple recipe in a slow cooker so I had no idea what I was looking for. As soon as I Googled ‘slow cooker recipes made with apples’ I immediately found a recipe for Apple Crisp. It looked perfect and easy to make, so I decided to go for it.  I used the Apple Crisp recipe that I found but I did remove the 1/2 cup of sugar. The Apple Crisp was sweet enough without the extra sugar so I am glad that I chose to remove it.

Apple Crisp Mix

As I prepared the Apple Crisp the amazing smell of fresh apples and cinnamon filled my kitchen. To me, the smell of apples and cinnamon is a representation of fall cooking and one of my favorite holiday smells. I chose to cook this dish in the Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker on LOW so that my house could be filled with the delicious aromas. Once the Apple Crisp has finished cooking, let cool so that you can get the ‘hot’ off of it and then once you are ready to serve it, top with Cool Whip or ice cream or eat alone.

Apple Crisp- The perfect Slow Cooker desert
