Reindeer Footprint Keepsake

Every year I like to make my daycare moms something special that they can keep as a sweet keepsake. So far this year I’ve made a few super cute and adorable home made gifts such as a Snowman Family Mason Jar, a single Snowman Mason Jar, and a Mistletoes Mason Jar. I needed to make one more gift for a set of twins and since I wanted to incorporate both of their little footprints into this gift I decided to make a Reindeer Footprint Keepsake.

Reindeer Footprint Keepsake

You only need a few simple supplies for this adorable and simple Reindeer Footprint Keepsake: canvas, 2 red pom poms, 4 googly eyes, brown paint, red, light blue, green, and purple paint, a hot glue gun, and a black paint pen.

The first step is to paint the canvas light blue.

Paint Canvas Blue

Once the canvas has completely dried, you will then prepare your child’s foot. Make sure to try and work fast because kids do not like to be still. Paint the child’s foot brown and press it onto the canvas. Once the first reindeer has dried, repeat with the other foot or if you are working with twins like I was, repeat with the second child’s foot.

Prepare Foot

After the little feet have dried,  you will hot glue the red pom poms onto the bottom of the feet. This is the reindeer’s nose. You will then glue the eyes onto the canvas.

Red Noses and Eyes

After the noses and the eyes have been glued on, you will draw the reindeer’s antlers with the black paint pen. Once the antlers have been drawn, you will gather the kids so they can make the strand of Christmas lights! To make the lights, you will paint the child’s thumbprint and press them onto the canvas.

Thumbprints

After the lights have dried, use the black paint pen to draw the strand that connects the lights.

Strand of Lights

This Reindeer Footprint Keepsake is the cutest and the perfect gift. I loved how I was able to incorporate one painting that included two brothers. This is the perfect keepsake that will be treasured each Christmas.
